#LocalCrime: Elk River experiences a burglary spree
*Burglars gaining access through garage doors.
Did you know that 70 % of us access our homes through our garage doors?
So how secure is that entrance?
Many of us actually forget to lock our garage doors leading into our homes. Which is scary when you realize how not so hard it is for burglars to open your garage doors.
It's believed that the burglars struck at a series of homes in the space of just an hour between 2:30–3:30 a.m. (according to reports).
Police are advising everyone secure their garage service doors, overhead doors and any doors leading from their garage into their homes.
It is also advised to consider installing security lights to deter thieves, and consider covering up windows so they can't see valuables kept inside.
